Summer is in full swing and it’s time to buy your reading material for your upcoming holiday. However choosing which book you are going to read on your holiday is almost as hard as choosing where you are going to go. With so much reading material out there, it is often hard to know where to start. So we’re making things a little bit easier for you and giving you a rundown of good books to read on your summer getaway.
1. Me Before You - JoJo Moyes
This book inspired the hit film ‘Me Before You’ which was released earlier this year. If you haven’t yet seen the film, then I recommend you read this book. In fact, even if you have seen the film, this book is still a gripping read.
A romantic story that unfolds around the main characters Will and Louisa, this novel is guaranteed to make you smile, laugh and perhaps shed a tear. Based around the life of a man who becomes wheelchair bound and a twenty-something women who finds herself becoming his carer - is there perhaps romance or just a friendship on the cards? Read the book and find out.

2. The Girl on the Train - Paula Hawkins
This book was hugely popular when it first came out and if you haven’t read it yet - you must! A thriller novel, full of suspense and unexpected twists, this book is sure to keep you engaged and on your toes.
Based around the life of a commuter and her time spent on the train, Rachel becomes accustomed to her daily commute - knowing when the train will stop, where it will stop and even how long for. She’s even gone as far to name the couple who sit on their deck every morning exactly where Rachel’s train stops. However one day, Rachel spots something shocking about the couple that could change her life… although saying what would be telling, so read the book to find out; it definitely ranks highly on our good books to read on holiday list.

3. The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
Holidays are all about leaving the ideas of time and routine at home, which makes the hugely popular novel ‘The Time Traveler's Wife’ a perfect summer read. You might have seen the film which was released back in 2009 but even so, this book’s on the must read list.
An extraordinary love story involving the lead characters Clare and Henry, this novel is intensely moving and entirely unforgettable. Based around Henry’s genetic condition which causes his body to reset, pulling him into his past or future, is it impossible for Clare and Henry to build a relationship? Read this great book to find out.

4. One Day - David Nicholls
If you want something a bit different to the novels we've already suggested, we recommend 'One Day'; a totally absorbing, smart and easy to read novel. It has seen huge success since its release back in 2010 and it’s not hard to see why.
Based around the main characters Emma and Dexter who meet for the first time on the night of their graduation back in 1988, what happens to them when they must go their separate ways the following day? Find out where they are on the exact same day a year on and for every year that follows. Twenty years, two people and one day - this story is an absolute must read.

5. Dear Thing - Julie Cohen
To top of our good books to read on holiday list, we recommend 'Dear Thing'. A romance full of twists and turns, this novel is extremely compelling and you will find it hard to pull yourself away from reading it. A powerful, heartfelt yet heartbreaking story, this is a great book to read whether you are getting away for the summer or just spending the day relaxing in your garden.
Based around the characters Ben and Claire, their relationship and the endless years spent trying for a baby, Romily, a friend of the couple, steps in as a surrogate. However, what happens when Romily starts to view Ben in a romantic light? You’ll have to read this book to find out.
