Choosing the perfect pictures for your customised phone case
Though you can use illustrations, logos and graphic designs to customise your smartphone case, one of the most popular ways to give a more personal touch to the accessory is to add some of your favourite photos to the design.
However, if you’re like most people, you probably have thousands and thousands of photos on your phone. Deciding which images should go in and which aren’t good enough can be hard, so to make your life easier, we’ve created a quick guide to picking the perfect pictures for your customised case.
The better the quality of your images, the better they’ll look when printed on the phone cover. Discard any photos that were taken on an old style smartphone as these probably won’t be good enough. Photos taken using the front camera of some devices may also lack the quality you’re looking for.
Though you might have some great photos from your birthday party, NYE or other unforgettable nights out, images that are dark and gloomy won’t look good when printed onto a phone case. If you used a bright flash when taking the photo, the image may be good enough, just make sure the image doesn’t look too pixelated when you zoom in.
The composition of the photos you choose becomes more important the more photos you place in your template. If you’re just going for one single image, try to find a photo without too many distractions or too much clutter in the background.
If you’re choosing two or more photos and creating a collage, watch out that there aren’t any stray hands, half-faces or other awkwardly cropped bits at the edges of the frame. The more photos you decide to include, the simpler the images need to be as small details won’t show up clearly when printed onto the cover.
Another good way to narrow down your selection is to choose a theme for your phone case. You could create a case covered in photos from your favourite holiday, make a collage of photos of school friends or make a fantastic mother’s or father’s day present by having photos of family printed onto your cover.
