Anticipation levels are rising even more now that we’ve got all the information ready to tell and finally… the wait is more than half over! So if you missed the details from the conference release and want to find out what rumours are and aren’t true, you’re in the right place! Here is everything you need to know about the new iPhone 7!
Say goodbye to your headphone jack…
Yep, you heard right! Apple have decided to take a massive plunge and have shocked us all with introducing wireless headphones called AirPods in their new models that will connect via Bluetooth. As they are wireless and therefore have no jack for the headphone wire and cable, Apple have deemed having a headphone jack unnecessary and have decided to leave it out altogether!
If you prefer having a wired pair of headphones instead of the AirPods, Apple have created the option to have headphones that plug into the lighting port (charger port) which is where you connect your charger too. Each AirPod will last in battery for around 5 hours on a single charge which can be charged by placing them back into their small carry case. This is also charged in turn by a lightning cable.
The price for the AirPod will be at £159 which will be available in late October and have been said will go on a sale later this year.
Instead, say hello to an all new camera…
You might be saying goodbye to one part of Apple’s iconic look with their classic white headphones but they definitely made a leap and have treated us all to even better cameras… but not just one, the new iPhone 7 Plus has introduced a dual camera of 12 megapixel. One of the rear camera’s has a wide-angle lens for more detailed and brighter images as well as videos with more vibrant videos.

The second camera has a telephoto lens which works in conjunction with the other rear facing camera, together they can enable a 2x more optical zoom by clicking on a new button that will be placed on top of the shutter button.

Where the iPhone 7 Plus has dual camera, the iPhone 7 doesn’t but has been boosted with an all new sensor for steadying shaking hands which is accompanied by a wider lens and a new flash. But both cameras have 4 LEDs in its flash and are to be 60% faster and 30% more energy efficient than iPhone models released previously as claimed by Apple.

Both handsets have also improved vastly with a brand new 7 megapixel FaceTime HD camera which has advanced pixel technology, colour capture and auto image stabilastion for improved and better selfies which will work fantastically with the boosted screen which is now 25% brighter than the iPhone 6S series.
Does water-resistant mean underwater selfies?
Apple often teases us in their promotional images and often give us little hints so it was no surprise that people speculated that the iPhone 7 handsets will be waterproof after seeing this:

But imagine our surprise when nearly all the rumours were actually true. Over the duration of introducing the iPhone handsets, Apple have improved the levels of water-resistance within each device but this is the first time they have actually released a waterproof phone unlike their rivals, Samsung.

Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are totally dust resistant and can be immersed into a water depth of 1 metre with their IP67 rating, so where it probably isn’t the best idea to go swimming with it, if you drop your phone in the bath or down the toilet, you definitely don’t have to worry if it will survive!
Colour, price and memory
Apple has finally offered higher storage capacities by introducing us all to a whopping 256GB device option and have decided to scrap the 16GB altogether (which does mean the cheapest option will be much more expensive).
Each handset will be available in silver, gold and rose gold just as you can in previous iPhone 6 models. However, Apple has also introduced 2 new colours! A black (matte) finish which will be available in the sizes of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB and a stunning new “Jet Black” glossy finish which is only exclusively offered in the sizes 128GB and 256GB. The main difference between the two blacks is the "black" finish has a matte finish and the "jet black" has a slippery, glossy finish which could, in fact, mean that it could be subjected to more scratches and dents. This also means that you may need an iPhone 7 case straight off the bat!

Apple have said that the iPhone 7 in the UK will have a starting price of £599 for the 32GB, £699 for the next available option of 128GB and a large number of £799 for the 256GB version of the model.

Where the iPhone 7 is plenty pricey on its own, it’s larger sibling iPhone 7 Plus has the starting prices of £719 for the cheapest version of 32GB, followed by a cost of £819 for the 128GB and another large (and shocking) cost of £919 for the 256GB model.
The iPhone 7 is of the size of 4.7 inches which is the same as its younger sibling iPhone 6S and the iPhone 7 Plus is at a size of 5.5 inches (the same size of its rival, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus).

Another new addition includes a new home button which has taptic functionality so as you unlock your phone, it will return a slight tap. This is similar to the 3D touch already introduced and extends to playing games; tapping on the screen will send back slight vibrations.
The models will have an even better battery life of an additional 2 hours playtime from the iPhone 6S which will make the iPhone 7’s the longest lasting iPhone’s ever. Apple has also revealed that they will have 4 hours of wireless audio playback and 13 hours of wireless audio.
Alongside the iPhone 7 launch, it will be accompanied with iOS 10 which is no doubt a massive upgrade from iOS 9. It will have an even smarter Siri that will answer to commands on third-party apps, a Raise to Wake way of lighting up the iPhone 7 and an all new iMessage!
Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros game franchise debuted the 30 years old game on the iPhone 7 created specifically for the iPhone users.
Users have been told that they will not be disappointed with a modern variation of the game and will instead fall under the genre of classic gaming. The game will be called Super Mario Run. Pokemon GO will also be coming to the Apple watch which as revealed at the iPhone 7 launch.
So where not an awful lot of changes have been made (just the odd few that blew all our minds), Apple have surprised us all! Pre-order dates start from Friday 9th of September and if you want it on the day… better get your camping gear ready for the early AM, Friday on the 16th of September!
Tim Cook (CEO to Apple) told us all at the launch: "We have created the world's most advanced smartphone – the best iPhone we have ever created. This is iPhone 7." but that’s his opinion, let us know what your thoughts are!
