How to make the most of your summer holidays
Though it may not feel like it just yet, the summer is just around the corner. If you’re at school or university, the time you have off will be considerable, with the weeks and even months of holiday giving you the chance to do something really exciting with your time off.

Plan a big adventure
With university students getting up to three and a half months off, the summer break is the perfect time to pack your bags and jet off somewhere exciting.
Three months gives you enough time to sign up for a volunteer programme in a developing country, travel around Southeast Asia, explore Australia or ourney across South America. Though you’ll need to save up a bit of cash before you go, most popular backpacker destinations are incredibly affordable, making it easy to have an unforgettable adventure on a budget.
If you’re looking for a more responsible way to spend your holiday, there’s nothing like a summer job for topping up your finances.
Though this may sound like a more boring option, getting a job in a pub, restaurant or shop can actually be a lot of fun and will give you the chance to meet new people, make new friends and earn some much needed cash.
Get an internship
If your future career is top of your priority list, why not use your summer break to add a few star turns to your CV?
Taking on an internship in a related field is a good way to gain experience and build contacts. What’s more, giving up your summer holiday to work in your chosen industry will show future employers that you’re serious about your career.
Start a project
If you like the idea of have a productive summer break but don’t want to sign up to a job or internship, coming up with your own project and working on it during your time off is a good way to fill your holiday.
Start a band with friends, work on a photography series, renovate an old car or learn a new skill, just make sure your goal is achievable in the time you have off.
