The top 3 sporting events to look out for in 2016

For those of you sporting fanatics, then 2016 might just be the year for you. With a huge variety of International sport just over the horizon, you are in for a real treat. 
Whether, you’re an armchair spectator or you are lucky enough to have bagged yourself a ticket, there are plenty of options for you to get full coverage of the events you love. 
Here are 3 of the most exciting sporting events to look forward to in the New Year:

6 Nations Rugby Union – February, UK
To kick off the New Year, the annual 6 Nations tournament is definitely an event worth watching. Every February - England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Italy and France all go head to head and fight for the European championship. It’s a fiercely contested tournament with each nation’s pride, cultures and values put on the line.
Last year’s champions Ireland may have won the battle for Europeans supremacy in 2015, but it’s all to play for this year as new coaches, players and philosophies are thrown into the mix. 
You can get coverage of the 6 Nations on BBC and ITV as they have both shared broadcast rights for the next 6 years. 

Euro 2016 Football – June, France 
The ‘Euro’s’ come around once every four years and is an event that every football fanatic has always loved. With each nation battling it out for the European winner’s medal, it’s no wonder why it has each nation on the edge of their seats.
This year it’s over to France to host the 15th edition of the event that has grown in popularity over the years. With 24 teams partaking at a national level, this year is set to be the biggest tournament to date.
With the tournament taking place in 10 major venues in France, there is no doubt that the entire nation will be ‘living and breathing football’ over the course of the month. For those of you lucky enough to get a ticket, it’s definitely a trip not to be missed as different nations and cultures come together which will result in an electric atmosphere. 
The Olympic Games – August, Rio
Whether you’re into athletics or not, the Olympics is an event that can’t be missed. It is the biggest sporting event in the world and goes back thousands of years. It’s also embedded in our culture and holds significant power politically, economically and socially. 
This year ‘The Olympic Games’ takes place in Rio in 4 different venues across the city and has an astonishing 7.5 million tickets on sale. Further, The Olympics boasts 10,500 athletes from 206 countries all competing over the course of 3 weeks. 
With Rio having a vibrant and absorbing atmosphere, it’s no secret that this Olympics’ will go down in sporting history. 
The Olympics in Rio will have full coverage on BBC, ITV on a daily basis and will be accessible on all mobiles and tablets so tune in when you can because you won’t want to miss out!
