Top 10 iPhone Hacks we Bet you Didn’t Know

Fed up of missing the perfect shot, don’t have time to wait for your phone to charge or need to type your texts at lightening pace? Take a look at our top ten iPhone hacks and make your handset work harder for you.

1. Faster charging

Did you know that your iPhone will charge considerably faster if you switch on Airplane Mode while charging?

2. Easy editing

If you make a mistake while writing a text or email or when editing a photo, simply give your phone a shake and an option asking if you want to delete the changes will appear on your screen.

3. Faster typing

If you need to add a full stop when typing out an email, text or reminder on your phone, just give the space bar a double tap and your phone will add a full stop and a space for you.

4. Timing texts

Unlike older phones, iPhones don’t automatically display the time and date that a text was sent. To find out, simply swipe left and the information will be displayed on the screen.

5. Perfect pictures

Want to make sure you snap the perfect picture? Hold down the capture button next time you’re taking photos and your camera will automatically go into burst mode, taking loads of photos in quick succession and ensuring that you get that perfect pic.

6. Hassle free browsing

If you want to get to a web page quickly, just hold down the full stop button when typing the page’s URL and a list of common web suffixes will appear. Simply choose the one you’re after and you’re ready to go!

7. Supersize your phone

When you have lots of emails to write or texts to type, the fiddly on screen keyboard on your iPhone can be frustrating.

To give your fingers more space to fly and make writing more pleasant you can attach a Bluetooth keyboard to your device and transform it into a mini monitor.

8. Check Twitter

If you want to find out what your social network are up to on Twitter but don’t have time to launch the app, just ask Siri “what is Twitter Handle saying” and you’ll see a list of their recent tweets.

9. Create a shortcut

Typing out long phrases can be time consuming and annoying. To save your fingers the extra work, go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Shortcuts. There you can enter words or phrases that you use on a regular basis and the shortcut you’d like to use for it and your phone will automatically fill in the blanks next time you’ve got an urgent text to send.

10. Light up your life

If your phone has to be on silent mode but you still need to know when someone’s calling or texting, go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn on LED flash for alerts. Your phone will then light up whenever someone calls or texts, allowing you to stay connected without disturbing anyone.
